GCA Internship Programme

This opportunity is ideal for graduates looking for specialist knowledge of the greeting card industry, working directly with the chief executive of the GCA in the offices of Progressive Greetings magazine, at the very heart of the UK greeting card industry.

The role is varied and depending on the length of internship and time of the year, there are opportunities to work with us on seminars and visit trade exhibitions, such as Progressive Greetings Live and Top Drawer both in central London. There are many opportunities to meet greeting card publishers and see the latest card designs.

What are we looking for?

You need to be generally positive and enthusiastic (especially about greeting cards!) highly literate and numerate, a good writer and a creative thinker with good interpersonal skills.

Timeframes

The length of the internship placement is flexible and on a one day a week basis to be agreed. Our previous interns have stayed with us from four to six months. We can only accept one intern at a time.

You will be involved in some or all of the below:

PR and Writing

Writing for Progressive Greetings Worldwide, the leading trade magazine to the industry, initially on the new product showcase section, then depending on ability, news stories or the What’s Hot retailer focus.

Projects

The opportunity to take ownership of individual projects such as the GCA’s Educational Resource.

Office management

You will gain experience in general office administration, finance and website database management.

Seminars and AGMs

We run seminars on many aspects of greeting card publishing and our AGM is attended by over 100 of our members each year. You would help to organise the meeting, help to man the reception area and be able to sit in on many of the presentations.

Remuneration

The post is unpaid, but we will be pleased to provide a reference reflecting your skills and contribution to the GCA.

To apply send an email to Sharon Little with your CV stating why you are interested in the internship and what you can offer, to gca@max-publishing.co.uk
