The prestigious Henries Awards are the industry's 'Oscars', the recognition of the best the greeting card industry has to offer. With the gala evening taking place at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, this is the glitziest event in the greeting card industry calendar.

There are 15 free to enter product categories which are open to all UK greeting card companies, as well as three special awards: Most Promising Young Designer or Artist; Best Service to the Independent Retailer and the Honorary Achievement Award. All entries to the product categories are judged by an independent panel of esteemed retail buyers. Entry forms are distributed in the May edition of Progressive Greetings.

The awards, first introduced in 1996, are named after Sir Henry Cole, who produced the first commercial Christmas cards over 150 years ago. He was also the first curator of the V&A museum, a pioneer of the Penny Post and instrumental in the organisation of the Great Exhibition.
