Launch of the GCA/Royal Mail Teaching Resource
This month sees the launch of the joint GCA/Royal Mail Education Resource, which uses greeting cards as the medium through which to teach core curriculum subjects.
“I’m delighted that this truly historic collaboration between Royal Mail and the GCA is now coming to fruition,” said Sharon Little GCA Chief Executive. “It’s excellent news for the industry that Royal Mail has funded this resource, which aims to keep cards at the heart of social communication for the next generation.”
The new resource comprises lesson plans covering art and design, literacy, poetry writing, exploring multi-cultural festivals and maths. It will be available to all schools and the general public free of charge later this month via Royal Mail’s website. There will also be coordinating school packs, containing cards supplied by GCA members. These will be available to schools direct from Royal Mail’s education department.
The latest issue of Teacher’s Post, Royal Mail’s school’s magazine, (which goes to every school in the country), has given the resource front-page billing and also has an extensive interview with Sharon Little inside.
