On the Cards for Schools
The GCA/Royal Mail teaching resource has now gone live online and is already generating lots of interest from primary school teachers.
The new Greeting Card Activity Pack comprises lesson plans covering art and design, literacy, poetry writing, exploring multi-cultural festivals and maths. It’s aimed at primary schools and is available to all schools and the general public free of charge via Royal Mail’s website. There are also free coordinating packs of cards available to go with the lesson plans, each containing 60 cards – all supplied by GCA members and supplied free to schools direct from Royal Mail.
“This resource is set to be the most successful of all Royal Mail’s education initiatives,” said Barry Wiles, Royal Mail’s education manager. “The packs of cards are going down a storm with a very high demand from day one – teachers are definitely doing their homework on this!”
Sharon Little, GCA Chief Executive is keen to to encourage all parents in the industry to flag up this resource to teachers. “This is a really great resource aimed at creating excitement about cards and helping to show the younger generation how cards are a really special form of communication.”
